
August 26, 2022 Charlotte Caldwell, whose epileptic son Billy helped change the UK’s medical cannabis law, has secured free access to cannabis-based medical products for severely epileptic children, which could save up to £6,000 in private prescription fees, the equivalent of eight months of treatment.
As many as 75 families will be able to benefit from support when they apply for funding for their treatment from the NHS, the UK healthcare system, via the Clinical Advisory Service for Refractory Epilepsy (RESCAS), a procedure that can take up to eight months.
