A medical study, in the form of a survey, investigated the effectiveness of cannabis for Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG), the most extreme form of nausea and vomiting during pregnancy, which can lead to dangerous weight loss during pregnancy. 550 women responded to the survey.
“Respondents reported using cannabis primarily because prescribed medications were self-reported to be ineffective. “
“In this sample, cannabis was self-reported to be more effective than prescription medications in alleviating HG symptoms and enabling pregnancy weight gain.”
