Malta’s Responsible Use of Cannabis Authority has confirmed that it has had 26 license applications for social clubs in the country since February, although there are still no set dates for issuing licenses. Malta was the first country in Europe to legalize the adult use of cannabis in 2021.

Leonid McKay, who heads the Authority for the Responsible Use of Cannabis, said in remarks to Times of Malta, that there is a long and rigorous verification process and that it would not be in a position to give a forecast for the issuance of the first licenses.
