180 Basel residents are smoking weed legally from today
For one trial, nine Basel pharmacies sell cannabis. In half a year, the pilot study will be expanded.
Organic cannabis instead of black market herb and no more fear of the police: The Basel pilot study gives participants a more relaxed life. Nine Basel pharmacies have become officially licensed dealers. For the time being, around 180 smokers can buy cannabis there with an ID for this study and their ID.
In half a year, another 200 cannabis users will join. This delay is intended to enable a scientific comparison of health and consumer behavior between those participants who smoke weed in a controlled manner and those who continue to supply themselves on the black market.
